An Easter staycation

Keeping my children busy at home over Easter.

Easter is one of my favourite times of the year.

Chocolate aside, I love the long Easter bank holiday. Four whole days at home with my children without having to sacrifice any annual leave.

Even better is the fact that my holiday entitlement goes further at Easter because of the bank holiday. I don’t have to use up as many days if I want a full week away from work.

I always like to take some time off during school holidays so that I can spend some quality, fun time with Sophia and Dexter. So this year I wrangled 10 days at home (including weekends) for the price of 4 days leave. Not bad!

We didn’t do anything much during this time. My husband was working so we didn’t go away anywhere. But we did have a great time in each other’s company, and in the company of relatives. It was a real Easter staycation.

I created a video last September, which shared the fun we had during the long school summer holiday. It’s nice to look back on these things and remember everything you did together as a family.

So I thought I’d make another one of our Easter staycation. Just because.

We visited grandparents for a couple of days.

And made chocolate and jelly eggs (and a jelly rabbit) with some moulds and jelly from Hartley’s.

We spent a gorgeous afternoon at the park.

An Easter egg decorating kit from Vita Coco Kids kept us busy for a few afternoons.

We braved soft play.

Sophia and I enjoyed a mother-daughter day out in London while Dexter got some quality time with his dad.

And there was lots of fun had in our back garden.

What did you get up to over Easter?
